Amsterdam part II : Keukenhof

Who loves flowers? Please raise your legs. Hahaha.. Me loves flowers too. Meh,girls and flowers can not be separated :D. But I prefer tulips than any other kind of flowers in the world especially when they start to bloom. You wanna know why? Because in my eyes, tulip looks very innocent and shy in that state of a partially opened flower. And I wish to have that kind of tulips in my wedding later. Any color doesn't matter. Hehehehehehehehe =p

And at this place, Keukonhof, my heart became berbunga-bunga pabila melihat lautan banjiran tulips di merata tempat. Sejauh mata memandang. Pheww~ Seperti tidak keruan daku dibuatnya di mana every 100 meters or even 50meters, we stopped and took picture and said, cantiknyeww cantiknyeww ya Allah. So please la count how many pit stops we had in 32 hectares park. Hahaha

Keukenhof, Holland

Keukenhof :
  • It means the Kitchen Garden.
  • Also known as the Garden of Europe, is the world's largest flower garden
  • Approximately 7,000,000 (seven million) flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares.
  • Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse and southwest of Amsterdam
  • Keukenhof is open annually from the mid-March thru mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.
  • It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek). [This is what I have told you before in the previous entry]

See. I no joking eh.

  •  Keukenhof is scheduled to be open from 22 March to 20 May 2012. The Flower Parade was held on 21 April 2012. wuwuwuwuuu.. We went there on 4th April 2012. Didn't have the chance to  watch the Parade. Isk.

Please don't ask me the name of these flowers

These might be.... Daisy or something?

??? >.<

  • The garden was established in 1949 by the then-mayor of Lisse. The idea was to present a flower exhibit where growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe could show off their hybrids – and help the Dutch export industry (the Netherlands is the world's largest exporter of flowers).
  • FYI, Keukenhof has been the world's largest flower garden for over fifty years.

the most left ; Tulip light and dreamyyyy.

Your beautiful is true~~ Hehehe..

I.just.can't.get.enough.of.them.

And again

Tulips in the left picture were actually purple in color but I don't know how it turned to dark pink in the photos. Haish

Lovelyyyyyyy

They were even arranged according to colors.!

Cantikkkkkkkkkkk, bunga itu lahh.

The farms, where the little tulips are placed first before being transfer to the park or somewhere else around the world.

Hah. Which park you want to go first?

The Keukenhof park also has a small lake and few swans and ducks. Notice, the brown rounded things that floating across the lake are fixed to the bottom. If not, then we wouldn't brave enough to step on it.

The wind wheel in park. We can't enter it since it already closed by the time we arrived this area. T_T

I forgot this thing's name. Grrrr. *30minutes later* Oh, it's clog.!

Cakk.!

Sakura tree in Holland.

We tried to find our way out in these bunch of long grasses (Wait, what?Long grass? HAHAHA)

Posing sat.

Ohh yee. Sekian untuk entry Bunga bunga cintan. Hehehe.. Kak Nurul kata tempat ni cantik, macam nak tidor je atas bunga-bunga tu. Memang pon. Masa lalu kat kawasan yang bunga disusun macam tilam, rasa macam nak baring je atas tu. Tapi kang kalau kena saman, tanggungla sendiri. Hahahhaa :D Next entry will be.... Hehehe.. Amsterdam part I : Canal cruise

Morning everybody *yawning* Yaaaa, I can't sleep even I feel so damn sleepy but yet I can't sleep. Sigh. Today my morning class starts at 8am. But because again I can't sleep right now so I decided to dedicate all my efforts of being uselessly awake by updating my Euro trip entry for uolls *suddenly feel like a kindhearted girl*

In the same day of traveling in Belgium, Atiyyah and me rushed to Amsterdam, during night.! Hoho. While we were waiting our train to Schipol, there was a man who appeared to be a Netherlands citizen but worked in Belgium advised us to be careful of ourselves and belongings, especially during night and "because only two of you travel to Amsterdam" Thanks uncle for a nice reminder. Unfortunately there were some difficulties in finding that goddamn Mevlana Hotel but alhamdulillah we managed to find it at last. phewww~

Dah sampai hotel terus cuci kaki, cuci makeup apa semua terus bedengkur. Dapat katil tingkat atas (double decker) katil kecik gila, seb baik tomorrow morning tak bangun atas lantai. Hahahhaha..

In the next morning, after we had our simple breakfast we went around the area just to find things to do on that day. There were cycling activities, smoking weed *hahaha* or just lepaking. And finally we picked up to ride a canal cruise and went to Keunkenhof after that. Both tickets cost 88 pounds/person. Yeah. Paid by pound using Atiyyah debit card. Hewhewhew.. Actually, you can go by yourself to Keunkenhof but first you have to go somewhere else(which I didn't remember where) to take a bus from there to Keukenhof. It's much more cheaper than using travel agent but mehhh, we didn't know such thing exist -_-

Canal cruise started at any time as long as there were passengers wanted to ride it

Give this ticket to the Captain. Aye aye Capt

*In action*

During the cruise, you'll continuously profusely given a small 'lecture' about the Amsterdam and these canals by a recorded message played along the tour.

Overall, there are about 200 boats along the Amsterdam canals. These boats consume large amount of electricity thus the government strictly puts the guideline for the boats' owners to use solar power in order to save the electricity.

One of the canals

Some info about Amsterdam and it's canals :
  • Amsterdam's name is derived from Amstelredamme, indicative of the city's origin: a dam in the river Amstel.
  • The Amsterdam canal system is the result of conscious city planning.
  • In the early 17th century, when immigration was at a peak, a comprehensive plan was developed that was based on four concentric half-circles of canals with their ends emerging at the IJ bay.
  • Known as the Grachtengordel, three of the canals were mostly for residential development: the Herengracht (where "Heren" refers to Heren Regeerders van de stad Amsterdam (ruling lords of Amsterdam), and gracht means canal, so the name can be roughly translated as "Canal of the lords"), Keizersgracht (Emperor's Canal), and Prinsengracht (Prince's Canal).
  • The fourth and outermost canal is the Singelgracht, which is often not mentioned on maps, because it is a collective name for all canals in the outer ring.
  • The canals served for defence, water management and transport.

If you carefully observe this picture, there are 3 canals in a row.

Beautifully decorated

The residents just chilling around in late afternoon.

This bridge... I forgot it's name but the big boats can cross but one place to another only by this bridge. Otherwise, the boat will lost it's upper part laa. Hahaha

The bicycles.

This 4 levels building, is the place for bicycle. It's capable to 'sumbat' about 2000 bicycles in it (Eh, am I too exagerrated? :p )

That's all about Ams part I. Alhamdulillah, I think I can rest in peace now. HAHAHA. Joking. I think I might be able to sleep now. It's 2.48am *yawning*

Bruxelles, Belgium

After spent 2 days and 2 nights in Paris, we headed to Bruxelles, which is the capital of Belgium. It took about 2 to 3 hours journey by train. And surprisingly, there were a lot of Muslims even Belgium isn't an Islamic country. I didn't know whether they are immigrants or not, but that's cool you know. :p Also, the expense in Brussels was rather cheap than in Paris. Because we didn't have much time in Brussels, thus we only spent our day in the nearby areas, except the Mini Europe.

Have you seen this somewhere in the movie?

As we reached Brussels Central train station at 11 or 12 pm, we decided to go to Mini Europe first because the place located quite far from the station.

Hallo Mini Europeeee~ Tis picca with that orange thing took 5 euros you know. 5 euros. They were so damn clever in making money of other people. Pfftt..

Bout Mini Europe
  • Is a miniature park located in Bruparck at the foot of the Atomium in Brussels.
  • Has the reproductions of the most attractive monuments in the European Union on show, at a scale of 1:25. Roughly 80 cities and 350 buildings are represented
  • The monuments were chosen for the quality of their architecture or their European symbolism.
  • There's a book given to the tourists to guide them through out the visit.

Enjoy the pictures xoxo (p/s: I didn't put the pictures in sequence. Sorry =p )

Eiffel tower and House of Parliament.

Ready... Set... Go.!

Where to go? @_@

All these old classic building are located in Gorte Market area, only few minutes walk from Brussels Central Station.

Beware.! These things are alive.Hahaha

FOOD SECTION

Belgium is famous for its Belgian chocolates. There are lots and lots of chocolates, with different flavors and designs. Atiyyah bought a 100gm chocolates that cost 5euros++.
G.O.D.I.V.A nomnomnom

1euro waffle. Ceeehhh. It wasn't really 1euro. Waffle+Strawberry+Chocolate = 5 euros. Pffttt..

Tis kid, pissing in public.
Manneken Pis :

  • It is a small bronze fountain sculpture depicting a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin.
  • The 61 cm tall bronze statue on the corner of Rue de l'Etuve and Rue des Grands Carmes was made in 1619 by Brussels sculptor Hieronimus Duquesnoy
  • It bears a similar cultural significance as Copenhagen's Little Mermaid..
  • The figure has been repeatedly stolen; the current statue is a copy from 1965. The original is kept at the Maison du Roi/Broodhuis on the Grand Place
  • There are several legends behind this statue, but the most famous is the one about Duke Godfrey III of Leuven. In 1142, the troops of this two-year-old lord were battling against the troops of the Berthouts, the lords of Grimbergen, in Ransbeke (now Neder-over-Heembeek). The troops put the infant lord in a basket and hung the basket in a tree to encourage them. From there, the boy urinated on the troops of the Berthouts, who eventually lost the battle.

Eeeeeyyuuuu... Makan waffle sambil pegang totey. HAHAHAHA

Brussels entry comes to an end. Hehehehe.. I apologize if the pictures look small and can't see clearly because I combined them together. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this entry. Byebye..
